Winter Hongkong Workshop review -A revised report should be submitted, including schedule, budget, pending issue and millstone. -Steering group decided to BUPT to be the profit/loss center(like 2009 Winter School in Tsinghua University 2. Board/Committee/WG Updates (1) Board - Jun Murai is elected as the Board Chair. DY Kim and Yan Ma are elected as the vice chairs. (2) Architecture WG - Fumio Teraoka is elected as the new chair of Arch WG. - Arch WG has done a good job by having architecture workshop regularly. The steering group ask Arch WG to involve in school. (3) Mobile WG - Mobile WG is inactive and has no chair for past 6 months. - The steering group decides to change Mobile WG to Mobile BoF. (4) Education BoF - The steering group decides to change Education BoF to Education mailing list. - Rod Van Meter and CS Hong are asked to be the contact for the mailing list which discuss on the education related activities including long school curriculum and joint courses. (5) Testbed Committee - Testbed Committee is discussing if it keeps its status with the new chair, or change to Testbed BoF with dr. dongkyun kim as the coordinator. - It will be working on formalization of APAN collaboration for over the year, and it is expected to be finalized soon. (6) NDN BoF - NDN BoF is organized since 2010 winter school, Jun Bi is the BoF coordinator. - NDN BoF held a meeting during 2010 summer school. Many people showed interests. (7) Recursive BoF - DY Kim has submitted the proposal, and it is approved to have it as BoF (8) Network science Mailing-list - The steering group decided to discuss the approval of NetSci BoF in next steering group meeting. - Prof. Chon is the acting coordinator. - It is planed to have network science workshop in next summer school (one-day, or half-day). 3. Future AsiaFI Schools 2011.8.8-12 Seoul 2012.2. Bangkok 2012.8. Kyoto(pending) For future schools scheme, summer schools will be held Korea or Japan, and winter schools can be held in China and South East Asia. 4. 2nd Phase of AsiaFI The steering group discussed the next phase of AsiaFI, and decided to to have some committees to manage AsiaFI activities under Steering Group: (1) AsiaFI Group Administration Secretariat(director/Jun Bi, deputy directors: from CJK) (2) Event Committee (School, Workshop) Chair: Arira Kato Members: Jun Bi, future school chairs (Dongman Lee, Kanchana Kanchanasut, Yasuo Okabe) (3) Accounting Committee Chair: CS Hong Members: XH Huang/China, A Kato/Japan (4) Young Researcher Advisory Committee (work with Young Researcher Committee, Enhancing the paper submission quality, organizing paper reviews) Chair Rod van Meter, Members: the current members of "Student Advisory Group" and Mingwei Xu. (5) School Program Committee (to find new school program chairs and provide advices to new program chairs) Acting Chair: Kilnam Chon Members: Past school PC chairs (Kenjiro Cho, Jun Bi, Keiichi Shima) and Mingwei Xu (6) Young Researcher Committee (Former Student Committee, now includes post-docs and fresh PhDs). Chairs: Elected by students and fresh PhDs. 5. 2011 summer AsiaFI school review Dongman Lee submit the program proposal. Four comments from steering group. - Submit the final proposal in September so that it can be discussed in next steering group meeting. - PC chair would be Prof. Lee if he cannot find other appropriate candidates. - PC co-chairs: one from Korea, another is Mingwei Xu, who will be involved in student paper submission and review. - Location: find another meeting location since it is the hottest season in Korea. 6. 2010 Summer AsiaFI School - Review Prof. Kato submits a report on this summer school. There are 62 registered participants(and some more non-registered brief participantsŁ©including 28 students. Future steering group meetings 2010.10 2010.12 2011.2.24 8:00-10:00 The Secretariat will be responsible to chose the date in October for next steering group meeting. Steering G roup Chair requested Steering Group members to chair the future Steering Group meetings, starting from Prof Jun Bi for 2010.10 meeting. From next steering group meeting, Polycom is required for participation. Skype can be only used for audience.
