AsiaFI Monthly Updates on 2010.5.1 

1  The AsiaFI steering group meeting was held on April 21, 2010. The preparation of future asiafi schools
   and Future Internet Architecture workshop were discussed. The  Steering Group decided to have one
   secretariat director and three deputy directors from CJK. The candidates of deputy directors are Keiichi Shima,
    Hyunchul Kim, and Xiaohong Huang, then all candidates have been approved. There are 2 months overlap
    for existing co-directors and new directors. The AsiaFI Board and Steering Group elections will be organized by
    AsiaFI secretariat. The Steering Group assigned Keiichi Shima as the Mobile WG  interim chair for the term until
   August 2010.
 
2 Xiaohong Huang (BUPT, China)  and Keiichi Shima (IIJ Lab, Japan)  were nominated as independent tellers
   for the 2010 AsiaFI Board and Steering Group elections.  Dr. Huang will be majorly responsible for the Board election,
    and Dr. Shim will be majorly responsible for Steering Group election. The number of Board members whose
   term expires in 2010 shall be elected. The outgoing Board members can still be nominated.  The number of Steering
   Group At-Large members whose term expires in 2010 shall be elected. The outgoing At-Large member can still be nominated.
   The new term of Board members of Steering Group At-Large members will be 2010-2012.

3   The 5th International Conference on Future Internet (CFI) will be held in Seoul, 2010.6.16-18.

4   The 3rd AsiaFI Summer School will be held in Yokohama (Keio University, Hiyoshi Campus), 2010.8.23-27.
     The Future Internet Architecture Workshop will be co-located with this summer school.

5  The AsiaFI Steering Group reviewed the revised proposal for 2011 Winter School in Hong Kong,
    and approved the revised proposal with the condition that it has to decided either Winter School
   (with student papers), or Winter Workshop (without student papers) by the next Steering Group Meeting.
