AsiaFI Monthly Updates on 2009.7.1
 

1  AsiaFI steering group meeting was held on June 18 in Seoul. The recent working groups activities 
   and the future AsiaFI events (schools and workshops) preparations were reported. The initial proposal 
   on the AsiaFI Network of Excellence(NoE) was discussed to strengthen scientific and technological
   excellence on particular research topics.
 
2  AsiaFI is electing new AsiaFI board and steering group members during June 22-July 6, 2009. The   
   nomination committee members are Choong Seon Hon, Jun Bi, and Koji Okamura.
 
3  CFI 2009
   The 4th International Conference on Future Internet (CFI) was held in Seoul, June 17-19. 
   The AsiaFI Meetings (Steering Group meeting, AsiaFI event preparation meeting) were
   co-located with CFI on 2009.6.18.
 
4  FIST 2009 
   AsiaFI is helping to organize the first International Workshop on Trust and Security in the Future 
   Internet (FIST 2009), in Conjunction with IEEE/IPSJ SAINT 2009 and COMPSAC,Seattle, USA, July 20-24, 2009.

5  The 2nd AsiaFI School on Architecture and Building Blocks will be held in Jeju, Aug. 24-27, 2009.

   Several AsiaFI meetings will be co-located with this school.
 
6  The 2nd AsiaFI Workshop on Future Internet Testbed will be held in Jeju on 2009.8.24, 
   co-located with AsiaFI 2009 summer school and FIF camp.

9  AsiaFI is going to hold a workshop on Naming & Addressing Design during AsiaFI winter school in 
   Feb. 2010. A Brainstorm session to prepare this workshop is planed to be held during AsiaFI 2009 
   summer school in Jeju.
