AsiaFI Monthly Updates on 2008.2.1

1. Activity Plan
    1.1 AsiaFI General Meetings
         AsiaFI General Meetings wil be held twice a year; co-located with APAN in winter in general, and
         the other meeting during summer in China, Japan or Korea. The next general meetings are

              2008.6.16-17 Seoul
              2009.3.2-6     Kaohsiung(co-located to APAN)

         A typical general meetings include
               Board
               Steering Group
               Committee/WGs
               BoF
               Tutorial, Workshop, and/or Conference
               Joint Meeting

    1.2 AsiaFI Schools
         Week-long AsiaFI Schools are typically held once a year primarily for Ph.D students.
         The current offerings include Mobile/Wireless(2008.2, 2009.1) and Architecture/Building Blocks(2008.8,
         2009Q3).

    1.3 Conferences 
          AsiaFI plans to co-host conferences on Future Internet.  The first one is International Conference on
          Future Internet(CFI 2008) with FIF in 2008.6.18-20 in Seoul during OECD IT Ministrial Meeting.

2. Interim Period: 2008.1~6
    AsiaFI went through the preparation in 2007.7-12, and the interim period has been decided to be 2008.1-6.
    During the interim period, the Bylaws will be finalized followed by the new board, which will meet on
    2008.6.16~19. All groups including the board will have two year term starting from 2008.6.

3. Nomination during First Interim Board Meeting
    Interim Steering Group Chair:  Kilnam Chon
    Interim Secretariat Director:    Jongwon Choe

    Interim chairs of Architecture, Education, and Mobile will be nominated by each group, which shall be
    approved by Steering Group, possibly in its February Meeting.
